Introduced in 2001, the original Launcher fairway metal featured a maraging steel face with a higher strength-to-weight ratio than standard 17-4 stainless steel, resulting in an extremely thin, lightweight face. This "hotter" face provides a larger hitting area for maximum distance. A classic "pear shape" and proportional head size make it easy to square the face at address.
The stock shaft was the Cleveland Launcher Gold, manufactured by Fujikura.
